About

James “Jim” Melton Truluck (SK)
KV4A (1981? – 2024)

According to this obituary, James “Jim” Melton Truluck, 73, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away on October 6, 2020. A U.S. Air Force veteran and Vietnam-era jet engine mechanic, he later became self-employed, living a life marked by a love of nature, music, and helping others. He was also a ham radio operator, devoted husband and father, and shared a ministry of music with his wife, Nancy, before battling Alzheimer’s in his later years.

Mr. Melton’s cancelled FCC license and his 1995, 2005, and 2015 renewals.
KV4A is assigned to Mr. Truluck in the Winter 1981 Callbook.

I’ve yet to find any mention of KV4A prior to 1981. In the 1980 callbook, Jim was listed as KA4JAV and KV4A is not listed. KV4AA was a prolific Virgin Islands station from 1927-1982 which is hampering some research results.
